This personalised approach ensures you gain the confidence and skills to operate your vessel safely and effectively, while becoming more familiar with its unique characteristics.
Previous Experience or Knowledge:

Price’s Start From: £180 per student per day up to a maximum of 3 students with a minimum charge of £280 per day.
Requirements:
For own-boat tuition, there are a few important requirements that must be met before training can take place. The vessel must be fully seaworthy and in a safe condition for use on the water. It must also be fully insured, and the owner must agree that all training will be carried out under the vessel’s existing insurance cover. In addition, the boat must carry the correct safety equipment appropriate for the waters it will be operating in, and it must be fitted with a working VHF radio. These requirements are in place to ensure a safe and effective training experience for both the owner and the instructor. The owner is also responsible for providing suitable lifejackets for themselves and any crew on board, while the instructor will provide their own. Please note, the instructor reserves the right to reject the vessel on the day of training if it does not meet the necessary safety or insurance standards.
ICC ASSESSMENTS
If your vessel is of a suitable size, fully insured, and correctly equipped, many of the practical courses and ICC assessments can be carried out on your own boat. The cost will simply be the instructor’s course fee along with any reasonable pre-agreed expenses. You will also be responsible for covering the fuel used during the training. Up to three additional people are welcome to accompany you on the course at no extra charge.
